"We see children as independent and enthusiastic learners, therefore encouraging them to take risks, building up their confidence and helping with decision making" - Our philosophy
Our physical environment is set up in a way that helps foster child relationships, parent involvement and positive transitions for separation from families. We understand the importance of the physical environment in the development of the child.
Here at Play2Learn…
We are passionate about nature-based play and believe in the environment as the child’s third teacher, helping them learn through their own creativity and curiosity. Throughout our program we take a holistic approach to our practice as we recognise and support each child as an individual person with different needs and learning styles.
We as educators understand the importance of scaffolding the children’s learning and we respect the children’s families as their first teachers and influencers.
Ensuring children’s’ agency and rights are respected throughout our routine is essential.

PREPARING YOUR CHILD FOR KINDY
If your child has not been to day care or left with someone outside your family circle they may find their first few sessions at kindy a little daunting. Please have a talk to your child about kindy, what will happen while they are here and what time they will be picked up ie, at lunch time or before you collect a sibling from school. If you talk positively about their expected experience, your child will usually feel more comfortable and confident in their first step towards being independent and starting formal schooling.
WHAT TO BRING
A school Bag which contains;
Wide brim hat,
Food: morning tea and lunch packed separately.
A spare change of clothes
Spare underwear or nappies
Please ensure there is plenty of spare clothes in the bag as we love to get messy/ play with water throughout the day!
FOOD AND NUTRITION
Teaching children about good nutrition and food choices very important so when packing their food please do not send chips, lollies or chocolate bars. We suggest including fresh fruit, vegetable pieces, a wrap, sandwich and a water bottle. We recommend water as the preferred choice (unless a medical professional has recommended otherwise) and we will ensure they have access to water at all times.
As we do not provide food for your children we are not required to have the necessary Food Handling Act certificates and cannot be heating or preparing food you have sent. Please ensure all food is ready to eat straight from your child’s lunch box with an ice pack to keep cool.
All staff are required to have a current medical certificate, working with children check, police clearance and are working towards a Certificate III in Children Services. The Supervising Officer must hold a First Aid Certificate, Diploma in Children Services, Mother Craft Nursing Qualification, Diploma in Education, Early Childhood Education Degree or diploma or other qualification as the CEO may deem fit.
